EyeWorld Digital Media and Electronic Opportunities New for 2013 A mobile-optimized web application for all EyeWorld publications Digital editions of all EyeWorld publications are now available at This website is optimized for mobile viewing, particularly on tablet devices. Desktop and notebook users can also take advantage of the functionality of the site. Features: The site incorporates a wide array of features for the reader including: • A "reader" function to view articles as text only. The font in the text articles is size adjustable • An ability to either search a specific issue or a search function to search all archived material • A filmstrip viewer to skim thumbnails of each page of an issue • An archives page to review back issues of EyeWorld • An index listing by page • An ability to share articles and links by email, Facebook, Twitter, and dozens of other social media sites Value add: Advertising • All advertisers in the print edition of our publications will receive an ad in the digital edition at no charge • All advertisements in the digital edition will have any included URLs or emails in the print ads hotlinked in the digital edition • All QR codes will be hotlinked in the digital edition at the advertisers' request • To submit a new ad for digital only is an additional $300.00 net (must have a print ad placed) Video Any video associated with the advertisement in the print issue may be housed on the EyeWorld site and embedded into the ad in the digital edition. The video will play right from the ad page, with an option to expand to full screen viewing. To add embedded video to the digital ad is an additional $500.00 over the standard print advertising fee. Premium position – Digital edition only • When viewed in landscape mode on a tablet or smartphone, this ad will appear as the left-hand page of a cover 1 spread • When viewed in portrait mode on a tablet or smartphone, the ad will appear as the first page ad ahead of the cover, serving essentially as a prestitial that the reader will have to turn to get to the cover • Available on a per issue basis in EyeWorld USA, EyeWorld Asia-Pacific, and Ophthalmology Business • Net price: $5,000.00 per issue EyeWorld Meeting Reporter: Also redesigned in 2012, EyeWorld Meeting Reporter is a daily review of the top news events at several U.S. and international ophthalmic meetings. The Meeting Reporter is written onsite during each day of one of these meetings. An EyeWorld staff writer or editor attending the meeting covers breaking ophthalmic news from the educational sessions and the exhibit floor. The Meeting Reporter is broadcast by email each day of the meeting to over 13,000 eyecare providers. The Meeting Reporter is summarized and printed in the next issue of EyeWorld magazine as well as posted to Advertising is granted to a single corporate sponsor for each meeting. Sponsorship allows the industry partner to place two wide skyscraper banner ads along the right side of the page and one leaderboard ad beneath the last article. At least one of the two wide skyscraper ads will be above the fold. Industry sponsor is also acknowledged in each edition and in the print summary appearing in EyeWorld magazine following the meeting.
