ASCRS Podcast Library Description ASCRS is pleased to announce the availability of advertising spots on new podcasts produced for the ASCRS site. The ASCRS Podcast Library has accumulat- ed more than 250 audio programs on current topics in ophthalmology. Our producers and clinical advisors scan the wide range of news and clinical information available from a variety of sources, including live meetings and peer-review journals, and choose two topics per month to discuss. An interview with the presenter or author of a paper is arranged and edited by our staff. Two podcasts are posted per month, once on the 1st and once on the 15th. The podcasts typically range in length from 15 to 25 minutes each. All podcasts are in standard mp3 format. Prospective listeners can access the podcasts in several ways. Subscribers to the podcasts are automatically pushed each new podcast as it is released. Non-sub- scribers may access the podcast site through a variety of links throughout the www.ascrs.org website and listen to individual podcasts without subscribing. The podcasts are open to all listeners, not just members of ASCRS or ASOA. The podcasts may also be found in the iTunes store, and users may subscribe to the podcasts via the iTunes store by searching under ASCRS. ASFH, or As Seen from Here, is our production company for the podcasts. Metrics Two year statistics show that each podcast is downloaded an average of 1,942 times. Listeners come from all over the world, with U.S. physicians accounting for 54% of the total number of downloads. Advertising Two podcasts are produced per month, for a total of 24 per year. Advertising spots are now available on the front end and back end of each podcast. The spots may be up to 30 seconds in length. The same spot will be heard prior to the beginning of the podcast and immediately following the conclusion of the podcast. All podcast advertising spots are subject to review and approval by ASCRS.
